STEP BY STEP INSTALLATION PROCESS

Mark out where the brickwork and the door is going.

Drive the nails into the ends of two lengths of timber. These are used to prop up door frame. Stand up the door frame, remembering to check which way the door is hinged. Hook the nail onto the top edge of the frame.

Using a spirit level, plumb the frame by moving the stays. When it is plumb, secure the timber stays with a couple of bricks.

You are now ready to start the brickwork. Proceed laying the bricks into the rebate at the back of the frame.

Place mortar into the gap between the brick and the frame as you go along. This will fill the frame with cement and make it rigid and strong. The frame thus becomes an integral part of the wall's construction and adds to the strength. Furthermore, this guarantees that the wall is plumb and of uniform thickness.

Each steel door frame is supplied with a quantity special wire brick ties. These should be used to tie in the brickwork every fourth or fifth brick course.

Note: Once the mortar is set remove the spreader bar at base of frame
